CPS’ new high school application website is the latest step in the district’s effort to transform an application system that had previously been frustrating for parents and limited access for all of Chicago’s families.  The new application system will allow families to rank their choices of up to 20 schools. The district will then offer each student a seat at one of their school choices based on the rankings.  The new process is expected to level the playing field for CPS families and will enable an application process that is much easier for families to navigate,

”It’s a first step of many that has to happen to continue to move Chicago’s education performance as we move into the next 10 years,” said Daniel Anello, CEO at New Schools for Chicago, in an article on Chicago Tonite in April.
