How one district made the enrollment process easier and more accessible in order to help families find the right educational option for students.

The Challenge

Napa Valley Unified School District takes pride in providing a plethora of educational programs and opportunities for its students to help them explore their interests and prepare them to be college and career ready. With an open enrollment policy allowing students to apply to schools and programs other than their school of residence and a large volume of applications to consider each year, Napa Valley USD found it necessary to upgrade to a new system that would manage all of their enrollment needs.

 

The Results:

  • Integrated the student data information system already utilized by the district to make the application process faster, easier, and less error-prone.

  • Removed time consuming data entry and verification for administrators.

  • Added a mobile component to their enrollment system, to allow parents to submit and manage applications from their smartphone or table, to make the process as accessible to all families as possible.

  • Utilized the system communication component to create instant communications with parents and keep them informed of enrollment decisions.
