Core values—every organization has them, but what do they really stand for? SchoolMint’s Core Values are not just a space-filler on the website or something leadership came up with to feel good about themselves, but instead something that speaks to the root of who we are. They’re honest and relatable, to tell our employees and the world who we are and, more importantly, who we are not. Our core values are intentional and serve as the foundation of the company’s culture and how we relate to others at work.
#1. No Jerks, Period.
With kindness being our core, we chose to treat each other and our school partners with mutual respect. Sure, there will be times that you disagree, but if you listen and assume positive intent, it can reach a productive, peaceful resolution. We tend to follow “The Golden Rule” model that our parents taught us in childhood. After all, it’s cool to be kind.
#2. We, Not Me.
As John Maxwell once said, “Teamwork makes the dream work, but a vision becomes a nightmare when the leader has a big dream and a bad team.” At SchoolMint, we believe collaboration, communication, and celebration are essential from our leaders, to our subordinates, and vice versa. It takes a cohesive effort to win, and we don’t intend to lose!
